Mondays.
Egad, what a day.
The past few days began fairly nice weekend. Karina and I were able to head North to see my Aunt & Uncle off and to say a last goodbye to Neal before he headed back to school. I feel bad for not being able to spend more time with them on this brief visit. Heading back to Toronto Saturday, I had all too much work to do although I did manage to have dinner with Graham followed by a few Olympic watching beers with friends. Sunday was spent having excellent mid-day Dim Sum followed by the work that I had yet to do. In the end, it looks like my late-night work caused me to loose some focus - I saved some bad data overtop one of my models adding some more work to my plate.
Today was altogether a mad day. My morning meeting ran until 12:30 as I made calls to London and Washington. I still have a long list of people to call (now tomorrow) and a few new issues popped up. My Calgary trip has been moved to Sunday and the arrangements have been a terrible headache (and only partially for me!). I received notice today that one of my (I thought certain) big deals is not to close until the new year, meaning that my sales target is looking less healthy (as is my bank account). Yes, a frustrating day.
After a mad effort to get the channel through the Byzantine site that is Bell ExpressVu, I did finally get to watch Liverpool draw 1-1 with Spurs in the first game of the season. The team looked pretty good for the start of the match and then grew increasingly flat. I did not enjoy the second half which saw the Spurs dominate possession.
Olympics coverage in HDTV is amazing BTW. HDTV with NBC commentary sucks.
Rugby is tonight and I believe we will, in fact, have enough guys. The exercise, and the chance to take my mind off work and other things is very welcome.
