Dining at IKEA

Last night's dinner at IKEA was quite good and pretty cheap. The IKEA shopping excursion was mostly successful - actually seeing and handling a few of the items on my list (rather than looking at online catalogue snaps) made me realize that they wouldn't fit the bill. In some cases I was able to find suitable replacement products and in other cases I had to rethink my plans. Nothing too radical. I am currently still without blinds in my bedroom as IKEA was out of stock - I probably won't be charged with indecent exposure until the leaves fall off the maple in the front of my windows. I think I was mostly successful in fighting off the IKEA impulse purchase - my spaghetti holder really is a hygienic move, the wine rack is for safety and the $4.50 glass vase is ideal to house my Venus Flytrap. Perhaps the corner shelf option - shelf, pots and three small cacti was frivolous - but anyone with unboxed Caban rechargeable candles (Karina) is not one to judge. :P

I have had 4 queries on the apartment so far without major press - I have an ad running in the Saturday edition of the Toronto Star. Of the four callers, two seem odd - one left a message but no name, another a bad number with a Vancouver area code.

Tomorrow is Infoware's summer party and I'm going to have to scramble late tomorrow afternoon in order to make it in good time. Also tomorrow Liverpool plays West Brom - lets hope that the continuing tutelage of coach Benitez can start to create some more consistent form from the side.
