FEMA director Brown recalled to Washington

Coast Guard Vice Adm. Thad Allen will replace Michael Brown, the embattled FEMA director, as the on-site head of hurricane relief operations in the Gulf Coast, a senior administration official told CNN. Although recalled to oversee things from Washington, Brown's term as head of FEMA might be shortlived as there are serious questions about his qualifications (especially now that Congress has approved $52B to his agency for Katrina relief).
