White House condemns Robertson's comments

The White House sharply criticized Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson on Friday for suggesting that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's stroke was divine punishment for 'dividing God's land.'

Robertson made comments about Israel and Sharon on his TV program, 'The 700 Club.' He said, 'God considers this land to be his. You read the Bible and he says `This is my land,' and for any prime minister of Israel who decides he is going to carve it up and give it away, God says, `No, this is mine.'

  • Argh this guy is out of control. This is the same guy who called for the assassination of the Venezuelan President on tv and then denied it. (he apologized the next day when he clued in that tv cameras actually "record" what was said) And the scariest part is his enormous popularity -- he is the face of the "conservative Christians" in the USA. Time for you to bow out Mr.Robertson, because you're out of your mind. (And incidentally, you may have skipped over a few of the commandments while grabbing your gin and tonic off the bedside table)
