CARE Regional Director Killed in Nairobi, Kenya
Geoffrey Chege, a 25-year veteran of CARE, was killed Saturday night in Nairobi during a car jacking attempt. Chege was born in Kenya.

I live in Nairobi.The crime is completely out of control.The very fabric of African society that once seemed sacred is non-existent to many.People are so desperate here.Life has no value for so many.Two women we know were also killed the same day in a car jacking because one did not get out fast enough.She was 75!How does one instill the value for life in a society plagued with corruption and deceit?Why does the international community continue to be such a big presence in Nairobi?Mr. Chege dedicated his life to fighting poverty and those he fought hardest for exterminated him for about $30.Perhaps there is no hope for Africa!!!
